Hey all! Just a quick post today to tell you about this flippin’ sweet holiday giveaway. I’ve teamed up with a group of bloggers to bring you a fun little chance to win a little extra spending money for the holidays. We’ll be picking 3 winners, each receiving a $500!
Not too shabby, right?
But before you go and enter, I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite things to get your wheels turning for gift giving. Not that my taste in things is all that spectacular but I do have some favorites that I think could be yours too. Also, I’m cheap and usually pretty practical, so you won’t find things that will break the bank here or cause martial disruption, hopefully.

I’m pretty picky when it comes to lotion and this is my absolute favorite. I don’t like lotions that leave my hands feeling greasy or are overly scented. I also have eczema so I try to be careful with what I use so I don’t end up breaking out. But this lotion from Hempz smells amazing, keeps my hands soft and doesn’t make them feel icky. LOVE it. Hempz Original Herbal Moisturizer, 17 Fluid Ounce
If I could recommend one thing that every cooking enthusiast should have in their kitchen, it would be one of these Silpats. These liners fit in the bottom of a cookie sheet and let NOTHING stick to them. They are made of a soft silicone that is flexible and freakishly non-stick. I make cookies, breads, candies, meats, and just about anything on these that might have a tendency to stick. I even use it to bake a pie on for easy clean up when the fruit boils over. They wash up super easily and roll up for storage. Silpat Premium Non-Stick Silicone Baking Mat, Half Sheet Size, 11-5/8-Inch x 16-1/2-Inch
About a month ago I was given this water bottle at a blogging event I attended and I’ve been in love with it ever since. It looks like your typical metal water bottle but it’s insulated so my water is ALWAYS cold. Like, I can leave it out on the counter for 8+ hours and still tastes like it just came out of the fridge cold. You can also put hot drinks in it and the website touts that they will stay hot for a crazy amount of time, but I’ve yet to try it. I’m just happy with my cold water. I recently cut all my hair off into a pixie that actually styles best when it’s a little bit dirty. So I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect dry shampoo to get me through a few extra days of not washing my hair. You guys this is it. I’ve tried at least 4 other kinds of dry shampoo and with this one, my hair actually feels clean. It’s not stiff or powdery or coarse , it just feels and looks clean. Crazy stuff. It also smells amazing which is just the icing on the cake. Eva NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo, 5.3 Ounce
Okay, this is just on my want list because I think it’s cute. The price tag on the other hand is not so cute. Womp, womp. But it’s on Oprah’s list of favorite things this year and I think she should buy it for me. Emi-Jay Women’s Namast’ay In Bed Night Shirt L/XL Grey/Purple
If you’ve been reading HLF for a while you’ve probably noticed this slow cooker in many of my pictures. This is from Ninja and it’s a slow cooker, oven, and stovetop all in one. This means you can brown your roast, set it to slow cook the day away, and then make the gravy after the roast is cooked all IN THE SAME POT. Game changer. Ninja 3-in-1 Cooking System (MC701)
Favorite knife right here. I’ve always hated slicing potatoes because they stick to my blade and make life hard. But this knife has a ridge and holes across the bottom that keep starchy veggies from sticking and keep things moving right along. At 8″ it’s also just a good size for everyday use and is my go-to prep knife in my kitchen. Gourmet Ridge “Vegetable Knife” 8″
‘Tis the season for dusting all the things with powdered sugar and this little beauty from OXO is so much fun to use. It holds just enough powdered sugar for a big batch of cookies and distributes the sugar in the most perfect and dainty little sprinkling. OXO Good Grips Baker’s Dusting Wand
If you want your house to smell like a bakery in the middle of a christmas tree farm, this candle is for you. I love all the Bath and Body works candles because they burn so evenly and smell amazing but this one is my favorite. I have one sitting in my cabinet right now that I scored at the semi-annual sale after Christmas last year and I can’t wait to light it up. Kind of kicking myself for not buying 3 more. Bath & Body Works Marshmallow Fireside 3 Wick Scented Candle
And last but not least, these things are so cool and super handy to have around. It’s a LCD screen that is easy to write on and erases by touching a button. They are pretty indestructible and perfect for kiddos to doodle on and carry to doctor appointments or even to make a shopping list on. Pretty inexpensive too. Boogie Board Original 8.5″ LCD eWriter, Cyan
